Field Trips

Field trips are an integral part of the Co-op, providing MCEP students with a vast array of learning experiences not available in a classroom setting.  Students typically will go on one field trip each month, with some going on more from time to time. Teachers will schedule field trips based on their curriculum plan, in an effort to enhance their students’ understanding of particular areas of study.

Volunteers

All MCEP Field trips solely rely on our volunteers to assist in driving the students to and from the designated locations.

Driver Requirements

In order to be a driver on a field trip, parents must meet Marysville School District insurance requirements.  This requires at least $100,000/$300,000 liability insurance on the vehicle and all drivers must obtain an abstract of their driving record.

What do I need in order to chaperone for a field trip?

Nothing more than the volunteer approvals you already have!

What do I need in order to drive kids other than my own on a field trip?

In addition to the volunteer requirements, you will also need to provide a driving abstract (5 year driving record) which you can request on the Department of Licensing  website.

You will need to provide insurance declarations page stating active policy dates, name and the 100/300 coverage limits as shown above.
