Kindergarten

Welcome to Kindergarten at MCEP. I love my job,  and the opportunity to work with parents and grandparents is awesome!

I have been a part of the Co-op family since 2000. My sons both attended MCEP and I began teaching in the Co-op when my youngest son went into first grade.

I began my teaching career in Tacoma, teaching older students in fifth and sixth grade. I obtained my master’s degree in curriculum and instruction while pregnant with my first son. My journey into Kindergarten started after moving back to Marysville, where I was born and raised, to let my children grow up with their cousins nearby. I spent four years as a stay at home mom. This part of my journey was really fun. I did daycare out of my home with six little boys under the age of 3 and one little girl. It was fun to watch each of them grow and learn. As my children entered school, it was time for me to help out with our family’s budget. That’s when I was lucky enough to be hired in my current position.

My Favorites...

When it’s time for a little relaxation, I enjoy hanging out with my husband, John, and my family. We have fun camping together. Our favorite spot is Camp Casey. From exploring the beach to catching the ferry, or a trip underwater to SCUBA dive, this spot is not too far from home, but far enough to just relax and enjoy each other’s company without any distractions.
